Formal visit to the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre, 2nd Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment and 5 (V) Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment was held on 21 and 22 June 2022 by the Centre Commandant of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Brigadier Anura Abeysinghe RWP RSP USP psc.

The Closing Ceremony of the Tank Commanders Course was held on 14 May 2022 at the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre. Commandant of the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre, Colonel Koshina Peiris RSP was graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
09 x Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and 05 x Non-Commissioned Officers of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment were under gone the training of ICV/APC Tank Commanders Course from 28 Jan 2022 to 14 May 2022. After successful completion of the course these were returned to their respective Battalions to employ as qualified Tank Commanders.
First, Second and Third in order of merits of the course were:
1st Place - S/828375 Sgt Alwis GABP - from 3 MIR
2nd Place - S/827138 S/Sgt Pushpakumara BGW - from 2 MIR
3rd Place - S/827899 Sgt Pushpakumara ANA - from 3 MIR

The Closing Ceremony of the Basic Gunner Operators Course was held on 04 May 2022 at the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre. Commandant of the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre, Colonel Koshina Peiris RSP was graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Newly joined 26 x Other Ranks from the Mechanized Infantry Regiment and 05 x Other Ranks from the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps were followed the course from 24 January 2022 to 04 May 2022.
At the end of the course, they were able to develop their confidence on theoretical and practical aspects of all equipment related to gunnery of ICV/APC. After successful completion of the course, these Other Ranks were returned to their respective Battalions to employ as Operators.

The Closing Ceremony of the Orientation Course for Recruits was held on 21 April 2022 at the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre. Commandant of the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre, Colonel Koshina Peiris RSP was graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The newly joined 61 x Recruits of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment were under gone the course from 21 February 2022 to 21 April 2022. They were taught about the all matters pertaining to the Regimentation, Functions of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment and Introduction to the APCs/ICVs. After successful completion of the course, these recruits were returned to their respective Battalion to employ as well trained recruits.

In order to encourage the children who passed the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination of year 2021 and facilitate their studies, a total of 16 children were gifted essential school accessories on 10 April 2022 at the Regimental Centre.
Colonel of the Regiment, Major General C D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu and the President of Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Dhanusha Weerasuriya graced the occasion as the Chief Guests at the simply arranged ceremony. Centre Commandant, Brigadier Kumara Wanasinghe RSP USP and Staff Officers were present at the event.
