FIRST VISIT OF THE NEWLY APPOINTED COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT TO THE MECHANIZED INFANTRY TRAINING CENTRE

After assuming the office as Colonel of the Regiment of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment, General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division, Major General HMU Herath RWP RSP VSV USP Hdmc psc made his first official visit to the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre on 04 July 2023.

The Commander, Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Brigadier BPGK Balasooriya RSP psc and the Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre, Brigadier AMA Abeyasinghe RWP RSP USP psc along with other Staff Officers accompanied the Colonel of the Regiment.

The military formalities commenced soon after the Drive Pass at the main entrance and the Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by the Commandant Mechanized Infantry Training Centre Colonel HAANC Prabhath RSP USP and all the other staff officers. During the visit, Colonel of the Regiment addressed the troops followed by a special meeting with the Young Officers' Course. Further, the Colonel of the Regiment declared open the newly constructed accommodation for Warrant Officers and Sergeants. Furthermore, he looked into the administrative matters along with infrastructure developments, operational and training aspects by witnessing the formal briefings by respective heads of the Training Centre. The event was culminated after the All Ranks Tea Party which was held at the Corporals' Club.
