Coinciding with celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, 15 Officers and 200 Other Ranks of Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre has conducted a ‘Special Shramadana Campaign’, cleaning the bund of Ibbnkatuwa reservoir, an Icon visited by many foreign and local tourists. This special programme was organized under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) and the Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry Regiment Major General M G W W W M C B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc and the close supervision of the Centre Commandant Brigadier A K Peiris RSP. Hence, Municipal Council Dambulla, Police Station Dambulla, Mahaweli Office Ibbankatuwa, and Medical Officer of Health Dambulla also have given their fullest assistance and contribution to the make the event success.

The auspicious harvesting of paddy, sown in a 1.5 acre field in the Camp premises, Mechanized Infantry Regiment Centre, Dambulla was held on 03 September 2024. With the guidance of the Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) and the Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc and under the supervision of the Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Brigadier AK Peiris RSP, the ceremony began with traditional and religious rituals infront of the troops, who had sown the paddy seeds several months ago, stepped into the fields carrying sickles for the harvesting.

In honor of the upcoming 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, to be celebrated this October, we continue to uphold the spirit of brotherhood by caring for the families of our fallen heroes. In this regard, a newly constructed house was presented to Mrs. Nadeeka Madushani, the widow of Corporal Udaya Kumara, who passed away while on active duty.

Officers' Accommodation building consisting with 06 x rooms was ceremonially declared open by Major General M G W W W M C B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces Jaffna and Colonel of the Regiment - MIR, on 07 July 2024 on the invitation of Centre Comdt, MIRC.
After the opening of the building, the Col of the Regt addressed the officers & Other Ranks at the venue & highlighted the effort taken.

According to a concept of Col of the Regt Maj Gen Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, a Poson Dansela was organized by the Mechanized Infantry Regiment and Mechanized Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch infront of the Rangiri Dambulu Raja Maha Viharaya. 1500 kg of Manioc & 300 kg of pumpkin with coconut & lunu miris cooperated with tea/ sakkara were distributed amoung approximately 11000 pilgrims/villagers.
