The Mechanized Infantry Regiment Centre organised a traditional New Year Festival on 08 April 2024 at RHQ to mark the Sinhala and Tamil New Year 2024. The Centre Commandant graced the event as the Chief Guest and the event was inagurated by hoisting the flags followed by the lightening of traditional oil lamp.

As per the guidance and direction of the Centre Commandant of Mechanized Infantry Regiment Brigadier A K Peiris RSP, a dry ration packs distribution programme was conducted with the assistance of a civil donor on 07 April 2024 at RHQ. Staff Officers and Other Ranks associated for the success of this event in collaboration with the civil donor Mr Tharaka. The dry ration packs which costs more than Rs 5000.00 per each were distributed among civil servants who are working in the MIRC.

The Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) Seva Vanitha Branch Chairperson, Mrs Priyanga Wickramasinghe and members organized a Spectacles Donating Programme with the assistance of civil donor and donated 32 Spectacles for Senior Citizens at Dambuluhalmillawewa, Dambulla on 15 January 2024 at the Regimental Headquarters premises. The event was graced by the presence of Major General M G W W W M C B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) and Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry Regiment. Centre Commandant Brigadier A K Peiris RSP, Staff Officers and Other Ranks associated for the success of the event. This thoughtful initiative was further supported by the generous financial contribution of the Pushpakumara Foundation (by Mr Jagath Pushpakumara and migrated foundation members), who collaborated with the Seva Vanitha branch of MIR to ensure the success of this programme.

Troops of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment Centre facilitated and coordinated the distribution of school accessories among deserving 100 students at Dambulu Halmillawewa Model School on 02 December 2023 at the Regimental Headquarters premises. Major General M G W W W M C B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, DGGS AHQ and Col of the Regt MIR, together with 86 O/L(88 A/L) Batch of Dharmaraja College - Kandy provided a necessary financial contribution to this project.
