In response to the request made by world Youth Buddhist Association of Sri Lanka , under the guidance of Commander of the Army and the Colonel of the Regiment of Mechanized Infantry Regiment, a four day meditation programme was conducted for the venerable monks at the Regimental Headquarters Auditorium Dambuluhalmillawewa from 11 May 2024 to 14 May 2024.
Siyam Lanka Damma Yathra programme was conducted under the close supervision of Centre Commandant of Mechanized Infantry Regiment, with the participation of more than 80 monks from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Nepal. Mainly above programme was focused on various meditation methods. Mechanized Infantry Regiment provided meals accommodation and administrative facilities for the programme. After completion of the meditation programme on 16 May 2024 all venerable monks participated for the 'Pahan Pooja' at Prarthana Bodhi in Dambulla Golden Temple.
Final event of the Dhamma Yathra Programme was State Vesak Programme at Mathale, where more than 100 monks joined and travelled to Mathale by foot from Dambulla with a unique traditional perahera.
