ASSUMING OF DUTIES BY THE NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDER MECHANIZED INFANTRY BRIGADE

Brigadier HAANC Prabath RSP USP assumed duties as the 14th Commander Mechanized Infantry Brigade on 08 August 2024 of the Mechanized Infantry Brigade.

The newly appointed Commander was warmly welcomed upon his arrival by Colonel DS Walpita Gamage RSP Commandant - MITC, and over looking Commander Mechanized Infantry Brigade. The formal military ceremony was commenced soon after the guard turnout at the main entrance. Afterwards, he planted a sapling before assuming duties. Later, he placed his signature for a formal document for assuming duties amidst simply arranged religious observances to signify the acceptance of the new office and addressed the Officers and Other Ranks of the Brigade and conveyed his views and guidance.

Lieutenant Colonel DNS Perera psc - GSO I Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel PVRP Kumara RSP USP psc - CO 2 MIR, Lieutenant Colonel PR Atapattu USP - CO 1 MIR, Maj HMJP Heenkenda USP psc - CO 3 MIR, Maj MDUI de Silva Lsc - CO SLEME Armoured Battalion and the Brigade staff participated for this memorable occasion.
