    Regimental Centre SLLI in a fitting reception extended a warm welcome to their Colonel of the Regiment Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku when he formally made his maiden visit to the Regimental Headquarters on Friday (11) upon his recent acceptance of the Army's second highest office, Chief of Staff.

    Maj Gen Jagath Kodihuwakku RWP RSP ndu the present Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) assumed the office as the 60th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army on Wednesday 08th June 2022 at the Army Headquarters Battaramulla. Upon his entry into the premises, he signed an official document symbolizing the assumption of office after the traditional Buddhist religious observances. Centre Commandant of SLLI, Staff Officers of the Regimental Headquarters SLLI and the office of the Chief of Staff joined the occasion.

  • DHAMMA SERMON ORGANISED BY THE SEVA VANITHA BRANCH ON THE OCCASION OF WESAK POYA DAY

    The Sri Lanka Light Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch has organized a Dhamma Sermon on the occasion of Wesak Poya day. The Damma Sermon was organized to wish nirvana to the fallen war heroes, to wish speedy recovery for the members of SLLI who are under treatment due to Wounded in Action and to wish good health and blessings for the active members, civil servants in SLLI and their family members.

  • DONATION OF PROSTHETIC LEGS FOR THE SOLDIERS WHO LOST THEIR LEGS DURING THE WAR

    Forty numbers of wounded gallant war heroes, who were immensely contributed to wipeout the brutal LTTE from Sri Lanka were rewarded to appreciate their voluntary dedication by the public donors.

    The heroic senior officer of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment Maj Gen PGP Gamage RWP RSP ndc was awarded a honour of felicitation salute by the Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and the Civil Staff of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment on 23 Wednesday March 2022 at the Regimental Headquarters premises in Panagoda Cantonment.

  • Annual General Meeting - 2022

    The Sri Lanka Army Association was established on 17 December 1945 under the leadership of Sir General Sir John Kotelawala and is currently the oldest military association in the Sri Lanka Army. Its Annual General Conference was held on 19 March 2022 at the Regiment Center with the participation of a large number of its members, including retired officers.

    Major General TJ Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) paid a second time formal visits to the 6, 15, 24 and 5(v) SLLI Battalions on 09th and 10th December 2021.

  • THE LATEST PROJECT LAUNCHED FOR THE WELFARE OF INFANTRY MEMBERS

    Newly constructed Galant Drinking Water Bottle Project in the Ingiriya Infantry Valley Premises was Inaugurated by the Deputy Chief of Staff, The Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Maj Gen TJ Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu on 12th January 2022 and it was ceremonially handed over to Mrs. Shiromala Kodithuwakku, Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Infantry. It was built under the full supervision, guidance and manpower contribution of the Sri Lanka Infantry Regiment Center. Senior Officers of the Council, Centre Commandant, Senior Staff Officers and Senior members of the Seva Vanitha Branch joined the occasion.
