THE OPENING OF NEWLY CONSTRUCTED GREENHOUSE AT 7 SLLI BATTALION

The use of Modern Technology in the world today also employs various tactics to obtain high yields. Accordingly, the basic foundation for the construction of a Greenhouse using Greenhouse Technology. Directions and guidelines given from the current Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka Light Infantry Major General K J Jayaweera RWP RSP USP rcds, the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel T K P M Dias RWP RSP USP psc laid the forward step for the construction of a Greenhouse at7th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry.

Here the full attention and under supervision of Commanding Officer, the submission of guidance is the hard work of the Officers and Soldiers, and at the end of the sacrifices , in a short period of two months of very high blind Greenhouse is able to built.

The opening of this Greenhouse is done by the Senior Officer of the Regiment, Colonel of the Regiment and Commandant OCDC Major General K J Jayaweera RWP RSP USP rcds with presence of the Centre Commandant of the RHQ SLLI Brigadier D A K Dissanayake WWV RWP RSP and many Senior officers from SLLI Regiment.

The primary objective of this construction is to obtain the highest level of benefits from this Greenhouse and use it for the welfare of the unit Officers/OtherRankers. Also, the Colonel of the Regiment concept is to give the idea of this great work to other units for achieve the goal. Also, to inform others to get ideas from this battalion. At the end of 22 years, the Colonel of the Regiment instructed the retirees that they too could make retirement meaningful by providing guidelines and training on these greenhouse techniques and appreciated the high quality of the greenhouse.

The Colonel of the Regiment, who inspected the greenhouse and appreciated the dedication of the Commanding Officer and all the officers and Other Rankers of the Greenhouse and declared that it would be appropriate for him to pass on the knowledge of Greenhouse Cultivation to those who are retiring from the Unit.
