The 14th Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu made his initial formal visit to SLLI Battalions deployed in Northern and Eastern areas on 16th, 17th and 18th of September 2021. During the 3 days of visit, he address the troops belong to 16 (v), 9 (v), 11 SLLI Battalions on 16th September, 20, 19, 10, 17 (v) SLLI Battalions on 17th September and 7, 12, 23, 14 (v) SLLI Battalions on 18th September respectively.
The aim of this visit was to convey his vision to SLLI troops as Colonel of the Regiment and to review the matters pertaining to administration aspects, operational needs, welfare measures and logistic requirements of respective Battalions. During this visit, the Colonel of the Regiment was honoured with a Guard Turnout at the entrance at respective Battalions in accordance with military traditions under strict adherence to health guidelines.
While addressing troops, Colonel of the Regiment commended all the achievements and successes which have been gained by Battalions so far, as the proud members of oldest gallantry Regiment in the Army. Further, he commemorated all war heroes those who sacrifice their lives for the motherland.
During the address, he educated troops regarding the Army Commanders’ vision and Army way forward strategy for year 2020 -2025 and further requested all the Officers and Other Ranks to refrain from irregularities, malfunctions and wrong practices to secure the reputation of the Army.
The Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Brigadier Krishantha Peiris and few other Senior Officers associated with the visit too.
