  • BRIG MP GUNASINGHE RSP HONOURED IN FAREWELL SALUTE

    A farewell ceremony for Brig MP Gunasinghe RSP was held at the Regiment Centre on the occasion of his retirement after completion of 35 years of successful service in Sri Lanka Army. The traditional event unfolded on 02 January 2022 at Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Light Infantry with the participation of number of Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks.

  • BRIG DAK DISSANAYAKE WWV RWP RSP HONOURED IN FAREWELL SALUTE

    On the eve of his retirement Brigadier DAK Dissanayake was invited to the home of Sri Lanka Light Infantry on 29th January 2022. Brigadier DAK Dissanayake has rendered a noble service to the Sri Lanka Army (SLA), holding major command and staff appointments in different areas of the country more than 31 years. During his tenure as the Centre Commandant and Deputy Commandant he has played an important role for the improvement of the development process of the Sri Lanka Infantry Regiment. Further, as the Brigade Commander of 112 Infantry Brigade he played a pivotal role. This Senior Officer has followed number of local and foreign courses on to his account, meantime he is holding a Master’s in Business Management

  • The Battalion visit of Colonel of the Regiment SLLI

    The 14th Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu made his initial formal visit to SLLI Battalions deployed in Northern and Eastern areas on 16th, 17th and 18th of September 2021. During the 3 days of visit, he address the troops belong to 16 (v), 9 (v), 11 SLLI Battalions on 16th September, 20, 19, 10, 17 (v) SLLI Battalions on 17th September and 7, 12, 23, 14 (v) SLLI Battalions on 18th September respectively.

  • THE OPENING OF NEWLY CONSTRUCTED GREENHOUSE AT 7 SLLI BATTALION

    The use of Modern Technology in the world today also employs various tactics to obtain high yields. Accordingly, the basic foundation for the construction of a Greenhouse using Greenhouse Technology. Directions and guidelines given from the current Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka Light Infantry Major General K J Jayaweera RWP RSP USP rcds, the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel T K P M Dias RWP RSP USP psc laid the forward step for the construction of a Greenhouse at7th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry.

  • Another two SLLI's War Heroes offered with New House.

    The housing project proposed by the Colonel of the Regiment Major General Jayanath Jayaweera in view of donate 20 new houses for families of fallen SLLI War Heroes and differently-able War Heroes has been completed and another two more houses were donated to selected houseless Warrant Officer and a family of a fallen war hero under the patronage of the Colonel of the Regiment.

  • INAUGURATION OF YOGHURT PROJECT

    The Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment has been launched numerous welfare projects with the intention of enhance the living standard and welfare facilities at the Regimental Centre in recent past. As a another phase of these endeavor, a “ Yoghurt Project” was planned to commenced in accordance with the conceptual notion of the Major General Jayanath Jayaweera, the Colonel of the Regiment and the Commandant OCDC as a welfare project under the Regimental Seva Vanitha Unit. The whole expenditures of this welfare project was borne by the Regimental Seva Vanitha Unit based on the unanimous decision taken by Mrs Anuja Jayaweera
