With the aim of promoting and revitalizing the tourism industry of Sri Lanka, a grand musical show was organized with the guidance of the Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel of the Regiment SLLI, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, at Hikkaduwa Public Ground on 04 and 05 November 2022. It comprised of several entertaining items such as, dog show organized by the Commando Regiment, Army Anagampora performances, as well as a band display and a drill display performed by the Sri Lanka Light Infantry. This show added a novel experience to the public.

A brilliant old boy of the Thurston College Colombo, Colonel Sujith Kulasekara WWV RWP RSP who played Cricket, Rugby Football for the College teams and obtain many victories for Thurston College. After School he joined with Sri Lanka Army, on 15 July 1993 with Intake 40 SLMA in order to eradicate the brutal LTTE from the motherland.

Major General GMN Perera RWP RSP USP was enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army on 14 July 1989 as an Officer Cadet with Intake 32 of the Sri Lanka Military Academy and commissioned on 19 January 1991 as a Second Lieutenant and joined with 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry. He has held all appointments till he became the Operation and Training Officer of the 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, thereafter; he took over the office as the 2 IC of the 7th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry. Later, he was fortunate to command 7th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry. The gallant senior officer was able to join with 7 UN peace keeping contingent as an Officer Commanding in order to maintain the international peace and harmony.

Maj Gen Thusitha Silva was enlisted to the Sri Lanka Volunteer Force as an Officer Cadet on 02 August 1989 and followed the basic training from Sri Lanka Military Academy Diyatalawa. Up on his commissioned as a Second Lieutenant he was joined with 5 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry Battalion on 30 April 1990.

The gallant senior officer of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment Maj Gen GGAS Wickramasena RWP RSP USP Hdmc was awarded the final honour by the Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and the Civil Staff of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment on 05 Friday August 2022 at the Regimental Headquarters in Panagoda Cantonment.

Maj Gen Jagath Kodihuwakku RWP RSP ndu the present Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) assumed the office as the 60th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army on Wednesday 08th June 2022 at the Army Headquarters Battaramulla. Upon his entry into the premises, he signed an official document symbolizing the assumption of office after the traditional Buddhist religious observances. Centre Commandant of SLLI, Staff Officers of the Regimental Headquarters SLLI and the office of the Chief of Staff joined the occasion.

The Sri Lanka Light Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch has organized a Dhamma Sermon on the occasion of Wesak Poya day. The Damma Sermon was organized to wish nirvana to the fallen war heroes, to wish speedy recovery for the members of SLLI who are under treatment due to Wounded in Action and to wish good health and blessings for the active members, civil servants in SLLI and their family members.
