SLLI COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT VISITS BATTALIONS

Sri Lanka Light Infantry Colonel of the Regiment Major General CD Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu toured 1st SLLI, 8th SLLI and 2 (vol) SLLI battalions on 28th March 2023 marking the fourth phase of battalion tour.

Here, the commanding officers of the battalions welcomed the Colonel of the Regiment who came to his battalion with great respect. Then addressing the troops, the Colonel of the Regiment informed all the officers and fellow officers that by maintaining a very high level of discipline in all the ranks serving in the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment, which inherits a rich history, they can make their military life as well as their civilian life successful.

Furthermore, the shortcomings of the battalions were investigated and the necessary instructions and guidelines were given on how to carry out future development activities. Currently, soldiers are resorting to drug use, engaging in illegal activities and engaging in various abuses, suicides online when calling the troops. In particular, it was emphasized that such activities should be avoided and the honor and reputation of the army should not be harmed. He then inspected the soldiers' quarters and ended his visit after a friendly conversation with the officers and fellow officers present. A group of regimental staff officers including Regimental Center Commandant Colonel MPSP Kulasekara WWV RWP RSP participated in this visit.
