The newly renovated and fully equipped living building along with a modern sanitary facility for the benefit of the disabled Light Infantry soldiers was declared opened by the Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen J R Kulatunge RSP ndc psc on 14th of February 2019. Personal commitment and the keen interest towards the disabled soldiers and their wellbeing by Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen J R Kulatunge RSP ndc psc enabled Lt Col RMS Rajakaruna SLLI – CO HQ Battalion to has successfully completed this project.

He was played a vital role as a Commandant of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment from 14th May 2015 to 01st of January 2019.
