The newly renovated and fully equipped living building along with a modern sanitary facility for the benefit of the disabled Light Infantry soldiers was declared opened by the Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen J R Kulatunge RSP ndc psc on 14th of February 2019. Personal commitment and the keen interest towards the disabled soldiers and their wellbeing by Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen J R Kulatunge RSP ndc psc enabled Lt Col RMS Rajakaruna SLLI – CO HQ Battalion to has successfully completed this project.
100' x 20' sized renovated building complex at Sri Lanka Light Infantry HQ Battalion premises at Boossa is composed of all facilities with air conditioning and an adjoining toilets system. Facilities available in the newly renovated building complex will be much benefitted to the disabled soldiers. Building facility was constructed with the financial donations by Mrs Sonia Kottegoda along with donors and Colonel AKDJG Siriwardena(Retd) RWP RSP psc and also financial contribution along with tireless labour contribution by the Sri Lanka Light Infantry HQ Battalion soldiers.
Opening ceremony chaired by the the Colonel of the Regiment Maj Gen J R Kulatunge RSP ndc psc and Regimental Council Members, Regimental Centre Commandant and several senior officers were grace the occasion.
