GRATITUDE AND FELICITATION TO RETIRED VETERAN OFFICERS OF THE SRI LANKA LIGHT INFANTRY REGIMENT

Colonel of the Regiment Major General JR Kulatunge RSP ndc psc has timely endure to organise a special felicitation ceremony to the retired veteran officers of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment on 18 January 2019. The Colonel of the Regiment, Council members, Centre Commandant and several senior officers were attended to the occasion.

The Retired veteran officers of the Light Infantry Regiment are proud bearers and dignified followers of the regimental motto “Ich Dien - I Serve”. Their immense contribution and sacrifice towards the peace and prosperity of the motherland as well as to the regiment was highly honoured and recognized by the nation. The felicitation ceremony was commenced with floral tribute to the fallen war heroes at “Abhiman Mudunatha” the regimental monument by the retired veteran officers with their spouses.

The Colonel of the Regiment has extended his honour and gratitude to the retired veteran officers and their spouses for being guiding lights for the regiment and much valued contribution towards the dignity, pride and fame to the regiment.

This glamorous occasion was entertained with oriental music and the video clip which demonstrated the development and success of the regiment. This occasion was filled with golden memories and meaningful thoughts towards the future success of the regiment and the event was splendored by former Army Commanders of General SHS Kottegoda (Rtd) RWP RSP VSV USP ndc, General RMD Ratnayake (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc and living legend of Lt Gen HV Athukorala (Rtd) VSV psc FBIM and several other distinguished retired veteran officers. All retired veteran officers were extended their heartfelt appreciation and warm wishes to the Colonel of the Regiment and to the Light Infantry family.
