The Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General SN Samarawickrama KSP visited the 14 (V) Battalion of the Gemunu Watch on 28th February 2022.The Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel PHAI Wijerathna RWP RSP and honored with a Guard Turnout at the main entrance of the camp premises.

Signifying his first official Volunteer Battalion visit after the promoted to the rank of Major General and appointed as the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, planted a sapling in the camp premises.

Inter Battalion Novices Taekwondo Tournament 2022, organized by the Gemunu Watch in keeping with directions of Major General PML Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP ndu, the Security force Commander (East) and Colonel of the Regiment the Gemunu Watch was held at indoor stadium in the Regimental Centre of the Gemunu Watch Kuruvita. Chairmen of the Army Taekwondo Committee Brigadier KJNMPK Nawarathna RWP RSP of the Gemunu Watch spearheaded the conduct of the tournament.

Inter Battalion Novices Taekwondo Tournament 2022, organized by the Gemunu Watch in keeping with directions of Major General PML Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP ndu, the Security force Commander (East) and Colonel of the Regiment the Gemunu Watch was held at W. Wimaladasa indoor stadium in the Regimental Centre of the Gemunu Watch Kuruvita on 21- 23 February 2022.

First ever in the history of proud Gemunu Watch, Brigadier S N Samarawikrama KSP of Gemunu Watch under Volunteer Force, was elevated to the rank of ‘Major General’ together with the prestigious appointment of the first ever Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force representing the Gemunu Watch on 15 February 2022.

Commanding Officers' Conference of the Gemunu Watch presided by Colonel of the Regiment Major General PML Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP ndu was held at the Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch Kuruwita on 06 February 2022. All Commanding Officers and Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre were among the participants.

The conference began with a noteworthy briefing delivered on the carrier progression of officers, the current mechanism, and evaluating system of Officers’ Carrier Development plan by Maj Gen EADP Edirisinghe psc on the invitation of Colonel of the Regiment.

The Regimental Council meeting of the Gemunu Watch was held at the Regimental Headquarters of the Gemunu Watch on 05 February 2022 under the patronage of Col of the Regt, Major General PML Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP ndu.

Major General (Retd) W R Wijeratne USP,a former Colonel of the Regiment the Gemunu Watch visited to the Regimental Headquarters of the Gemunu Watch – Kuruwita on 05 Feb 2022.

Commander Security Forces (East) and Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch Major General PML Chandrasri WWV RWP RSP ndu made an official visit to 3rd Volunteer Battalion of the Gemunu Watch on 24th January 2022, while the battalion was in Battalion Training at Battalion Training School at Katukeliyawa. Further, the Colonel of the Regiment was honoured with a drive pass at the main entrance on his arrival and was warmly welcomed by Commanding Officer Major P A G A P Madiththapola.

A formal ceremony was taken place to mark the assuming of the office of newly appointed Deputy Centre Commandant-Regimental Headquarters the Gemunu Watch Lt Colonel S W P M H R Senadhera RWP USP psc on 19 January 2022 as the Deputy Centre Commandant.
The incoming Deputy Centre Commandant was welcomed by all the Officers and Other Rankers of the Regimental Headquarters the Gemunu Watch and assumed the office and took over the duties amid the religious observances.

Brigadier WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP assumed duties as the 21st Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch amidst military formalities accomplished at the Regimental Headquarters premises, Kuruwita on 24 December 2021.

The day’s proceedings in connection with the assumption of duties as the Centre Commandant began with reviewing of the Guard Turnout accorded in his honour. The Senior Officer was warmly received by Col AGSM Perera RWP RSP USP the Deputy Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch.
