First ever in the history of proud Gemunu Watch, Brigadier S N Samarawikrama KSP of Gemunu Watch under Volunteer Force, was elevated to the rank of ‘Major General’ together with the prestigious appointment of the first ever Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force representing the Gemunu Watch on 15 February 2022.
Meanwhile, a felicitation ceremony organized with synchronized programs adhering to the health guidelines on Covid 19 was held at the Volunteer Force Headquarters to congratulate Major General S N Samarawikrama KSP and to honour the taking over proceedings of the well-deserved appointment on 21 February 2022. The guard turnout and guard of honour of was accorded by the troops of Gemunu Regiment with the participation of 2 officers and 48 soldiers while a large number of senior officers graced the occasion with their participation.
