Inter Battalion Novices Taekwondo Tournament 2022, organized by the Gemunu Watch in keeping with directions of Major General PML Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP ndu, the Security force Commander (East) and Colonel of the Regiment the Gemunu Watch was held at W. Wimaladasa indoor stadium in the Regimental Centre of the Gemunu Watch Kuruvita on 21- 23 February 2022. Chairmen of the Army Taekwondo Committee Brigadier KJNMPK Nawarathna RWP RSP of the Gemunu Watch spearheaded the conduct of the tournament and the tournament was conducted according to the rules and regulation of International Taekwondo Federation, where 178 competitors from 19 battalions participated in the tournament under 8 variable weight categories totaling up to 153 fights including the final match.
The commandant of the Regimental Centre Brigadier WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP graced the occasion as the chief guest in the opening ceremony. many senior officers, Officers, Sport officers of the Battalions, many other ranks attended this remarkable event.
