Lt Col PAAS Perera CES was presented with a Commendation Badge by the Commander of the Army for the successful efforts as the Commanding Officer of 1 Engineer Services Regiment. He managed to successfully relocate the long awaited 1 Engineer Services Regiment headquarters with a new concept. He was able to liaison with higher headquarters and government office to coordinate the engineering services assigned to 1 ESR without any defect/ omissions and, he has shown the excellent ability and interest in satisfactory completion of the assigned duties under the SFHQ (West) as well as the Vesak Festival, government and non-government occasions.

On 18.04.2023 afternoon at Boossa railway station, a thief had stolen a golden necklace worth about 02 pounds from the neck of a woman who was boarding the train and ran forward along the railway track. When the woman screamed for help, S/S108169 Spr Kumara RGD of Corps of Engineer Services who waited at this railway station, chased the thief despite the risk of his live, caught the thief alive and handed over the thief and the necklace to the policemen of the Rathgama Police Station, who arrived at the scene.

The Annual General Meeting was participated by a large number of Seva Vanitha Members.
