Corps of Engineer Services organized the Officers’ Training Day was held on 25 October 2023 at the CES Regimental Centre to enhance the general standards of regimentation, professionalism, development and cohesiveness of CES Officers.
The day proceedings commenced with Physical Training and Sword drill training. Col KMGDN Dias, Project Manager (Tech & Svcs) of Project Management Unit, Army Headquarters conducted a lecture on ‘Self Levelling and Temperature controlled concreting’ with his vast experience and knowledge. Soon after offering a delicious lunch as the second session of Officers’ Training Day programme, Col YKS Rangika psc ptsc, delivered a useful lecture on ‘Officers career progression’.
All the officers were given the opportunity of getting participated with the recreation session along with cricket and volleyball game sessions.
In order to mark the termination of the event, the Diners’ Club was conducted on ‘Inventions and Innovations towards Sustainability’ by the guest lecturer Prof. R.U Halwatura from Department of Civil Engineering, University of Moratuwa. He is a researcher, academic and inventor at the University of Moratuwa and currently the youngest professor in Civil Engineering Science in Sri Lanka.
