  • SLCMP Hosts Vesak Dansala with Devotion and Unity

    On the evening of May 13, 2025, the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP), in collaboration with the Seva Vanitha Branch of the SLCMP, organized a Dansala in celebration of Vesak Full Moon Poya Day. The event exemplified the teachings of Lord Buddha, particularly the values of compassion and generosity, as a large number of devotees and passersby were warmly treated to traditional delicacies such as Cassava, Jackfruit, Gram, and Milk Coffee. The Dansala commenced with a religious blessing ceremony led by a Buddhist monk who invoked spiritual blessings upon all those involved in organizing and supporting the event.

    The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) recently marked a significant milestone, celebrating its 35th anniversary in a grand and memorable fashion with a serious of well-organized events that reflected the Corps’ dedication to excellence, tradition and camaraderie. The War Heroes' Commemoration programme was held on 14th March 2025 at the 2nd Regiment Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police – Giritale. A Pirith chanting ceremony accompanied by a magnificent procession was held on 27 March 2025 followed by an alms-giving programme. The celebrations concluded with a ceremonial parade and all ranks get-togather with musical evening on 25 April 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters.
