Ex-Military Policemen's Association

The ex-military policemen association which was established on the unit day of the military police began its operation on the 31st of October 1989. This association consists of all retired personnel of the military police. The association initially began with a membership of 53 and today it has grown to 475.

The main aim of this association is the welfare of its members. The association has provided financial assistance for bypass operations, kidney transplants and cancer treatments. In addition to this, the association has also provided its members with spectacles and hearing aids. The association provides financial assistance to the family in the event of the death of one of its members. It has also provided wheelchairs for the disabled soldiers at Ranaviru Sevana. In coincide with the 20th-year celebrations, the association organized a felicitation event at the Holiday Resort Wadduwa, where ex-servicemen who had rendered their valuable services to the military police in the 1950s were presented with a plaque.
