Brigadier R M K A S Rajanayake officially assumed duties as the 19th Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) with religious blessings on 16 August 2025. The formal ceremony was held on 18 August 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters, Polhengoda.
The ceremony featured a Guard Turnout, Ceremonial Parade, group photograph, planting of a sapling, troop address, and an All Ranks Tea, marking a dignified start to his tenure.
The event was graced by Brigadier J S Munasinghe, BAQ 1 Corps; Brigadier E M I Ekanayake; Brigadier H A H C Alwis USP, CO SIU; Council Members, senior officers, officers, the Regimental Sergeant Major, Warrant Officers, SNCOs and NCOs, symbolizing unity and tradition within the Corps.
