    MILITARY POLICE PROVOST COURSE COMMENCES AT THE SCHOOL OF MILITARY POLICE

    With the conceptual objective of creating and producing qualified provost to Sri Lanka Army, the School of Military Police has proudly initiated the Military Police Provost Course 83 with the presence of 12 x Young Officers and 49 x Recruits on 19.02.2024. This groundbreaking course is tailored to equip young provost officers and recruits with the specialized skills and knowledge required for discharge the Military Police duties within the Sri Lanka Army.

    The “4th Inter Regiment 2-Mile Open Water Swimming Championship of 2024” was an athletic prowess that showcase the strength and physical power of the Sri Lanka Army. The event exemplified the values of discipline, resilience and human spirit in the face of high tide waves. Hence, Sri Lanka Army swimmers navigated across the blue water during the 4th Inter Regiment 2-Mile Open Water Swimming Championship 2024 marking a thrilling spectacle of endurance and determination.

    In coincide withthe 76th National Independence Day, a total of 211 Officers of the Sri Lanka Army (Regular and Volunteer Force) and 1239 Other Ranks of the SL Army were received promotions on 04 February 2024.

The eagerly anticipated moment of the author, Colonel D D D Serasinghe USP the Commandant of School of Military Police has come to a reality with the unfolded celebration of literary achievement on 09.02.2024. The auditorium of the Mass Media Center sparkled with pleasure of authors, readers, and literary enthusiasts who gathered to witness the unveiling of a masterpiece. General G D H Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil, the Secretary, Ministry of Defence graced the pinnacle ceremony as the honorable Chief Guest.

  • SLCMP TAKES PRIDE IN THE 76TH NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

    Independence Day holds immense significance while marking the nation's liberation from foreign rule, symbolizing self-determination and sovereignty. This pivotal day commemorates historical milestones and sacrifices, fostering national unity and pride with the glorification of the armed forces for their unwavering commitment, sacrifices and valor in safeguarding the country. Accordingly, on 4th February 2024, the Mother Sri Lanka marked her 76th National Independence Day at Galle Face Green under the theme of "Let's build a new country" with multitude of spectacular events. His Excellency the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe graced the day as the Chief Guest along with Hon Prime Minister and a host of distinguished multi-religious, diplomatic, ministerial, defence, state and civil dignitaries and invitees.

  • EXPECTANT MOTHERS WERE BENEFITED WITH ESSENTIAL ITEMS

    In corresponding to the monthly activity of the Seva Vanitha Branch – SLCMP, an initiative aimed at providing essential items for expectant mothers was launched by the 4 SLCMP under the guidance of the Over Looking Second in Command, Major E M L B Herath. The project was under taken at the Provincial Health Training Centre - Mailaddy, Kankesanthurai on 17.01.2024 where 14 well-deserving expectant mothers (including 4 from Military Police families) were benefited with nutrition packs and exquisite baby accessories.

  • INSPECTIONS OF CEREMONIAL VEHICLE FLEET

    The 76 th National Independence Day parade is scheduled to be held on 04 February 2024 at Galle Face Green. Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police is inherently responsible for provision of the ceremonial duties to this National Event. Among them Ceremonial Motor Cade is a vital element that accorded to the HE the President of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Therefore, inspections of the ceremonial vehicle fleet was held on 26 January 2024 at RHQ SLCMP premises by the Provost Marshal of SL Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General A C A De Zoysa USP Hdmc Lsc to ensure the operational fitness, the mechanical efficiency and the outfit of the ceremonial vehicle fleet.

  • VISIT OF THE COMMANDER FMA (CENTRAL) TO THE 7 SLCMP

    The Commander, Forward Maintenance Area (Central), Brigadier C Kalutharaarachchi made his first official visit to 7th Regiment Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police on 22nd January 2024 after assuming his duties. The Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 7 SLCMP, Major L G L B Gunarathna USP psc Lsc at the doorstep where the Commander FMA (Central) was accorded with a drive pass followed by the group photograph and planting of a sapling.

    Paratroopers are a critical and versatile element for military forces in modern warfare. The concept of airborne operations originated during World War II, where they descended into combat zones to disrupt adversaries and seize strategic objectives. They have evolved to participate in global conflicts and peacekeeping missions, showcasing their importance in joint and combined military operations. Hence, the Sri Lanka Army has given undue prominence to parachute training and is now equipped with skilled parachuters who are decorating the blue sky above Sri Lanka.
