The 3rd Quarter Officers’ Training Day Programme of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) was successfully held at the Regimental Centre on 23 September 2025. The well-structured itinerary was designed to foster professional knowledge, leadership, and camaraderie among officers.
The day commenced with morning physical training, followed by drill training at the parade ground for junior officers, providing them with the opportunity to further enhance their drill skills. In addition, individual and group presentations by Military Police Officers highlighted their proficiency in various aspects.
In the evening, a thought-provoking lecture was delivered by Mr. Rajitha Perera, LLB (OUSL), LLM (Colombo), Deputy Solicitor General of the Attorney General’s Department. He elaborated on the significance of civil law in the execution of SLCMP duties for both officers and other ranks, with participation taking place both physically and virtually. The programme also featured a recreation session, where officers engaged in team-building activities.
Later, Mr. Dileepa Peeris, LLB (Colombo), Additional Solicitor General of the Attorney General’s Department, joined the Diners’ Club session and shared insightful legal perspectives relevant to Military Police duties.
The event was graced by the distinguished presence of Major General BGS Fernando USP Hdmc psc, Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the SLCMP; Major General RD Sallay ndc, Commander, Logistics Command, SFHQ (Central); Major General AMR Abeysinghe ndc, Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army; Brigadier RMKAS Rajanayake, Centre Commandant, RHQ SLCMP; Brigadier DDD Serasinghe USP, Project Officer, SFHQ (Central); Brigadier EMI Ekanayake, Superintendent of Rehabilitation, Nawodawa Treatment Centre – Kandakadu; Brigadier HAHC Alwis USP, Commanding Officer, SIU; Colonel KAP Kuruppu USP, Director, Directorate of Legal Services HR and HL; together with senior officers and officers of the SLCMP.
