57th Army Athletics Championship 2020/2021 organized by the Army Athletic Committee was concluded at the Sugathadasa Stadium Colombo on Friday 26th November 2021 in the presence of the General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army graced the closing and awarding ceremony as the chief guest at the invitation of Maj Gen Harendra Ranasinghe, Chairman, Army Athletic Committee and Commander 1 Corps.

Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps WO I MVDP Ranasinghe USP prior to her retirement received appreciation and commendation from the Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps, Brigadier C S Thibbotuge for her exemplary service to the Regiment for two decades and awarded a memento to the retiree as a symbol of appreciation and commendation.

2/Lt SMGKK Samarakoon SLAWC and 2/Lt WASA Weerakoon SLAWC joined with Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps after completion of Military Training at Pakistan Military Academy on 18 August 2021. These two lady officers have been selected to train in overseas for the first time in the history of Sri Lanka Military Academy and also their names are written in the history of Pakistan Military Academy as the first foreign lady cadets.
