The first working day arrangements to coincide with dawn of the New Year 2022, with the direction of Army Headquarters has been held at RHQ SLAWC premises on 3rd January by adhering all the preventive measures for COVID 19 pandemic.
The Centre Commandant, Brig CS Thibbotugae and General Staff Officer I Lt Col TN Thilakawardana RSP at commencement of the day’s arrangement hoisted the National Flag and Army Flag and sang the National Anthem and Army Song.
Then day’s proceedings continued with observing two minute silence to remember fallen war heroes and presented the state allegiance oath by Centre Commandant of SLAWC and the New Year message of Commander of the Army was delivered by Over Looking RHQ Adjutant.
After a while, Centre Commandant addressed all Officers, Other Ranks, members of the civil staff and wished all of them for the New Year 2022 and wished all would have enough strength to face all challenges, hardships and health issues with all success. Afterwards the Centre Commandant along with all staff officers joined for the refreshments with All Ranks.
To mark the end of the day’s programme, All Ranks attended to a brief lecture conducted by Capt TR wickramaarchchi on Individual and Social responsibilities of each personnel to prevent COVID 19 pandemic.
