The inaugural ceremony of the first ever “Field Engineering Basic Module and Humanitarian Demining Course” organized by Sri Lanka Army Corps of Engineers for Sri Lanka Women’s Corps was commenced on 30th December 2021 at the Field Engineer Brigade , Boo Oya.
This is the first time in Women’s Corps History where women soldiers got the opportunity to participate for a demining course and 02 Lady Officers and 30 Women Other Ranks are following the course at present.
The Commander Security Forces (Wanni) , the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Major General CD Ranasinghe RWP RSP visited trainees and addressed them on 02nd January 2022 .This course will help the women soldiers in their future activities specially to provide assistance in demining activities and to serve the Peace Keeping Operation of United Nation.
