  • SEVA VANITHA BRANCH SRI LANKA ARMY WOMEN’S CORPS CELEBRATES WORLD WOMEN’S DAY 2025

    In celebration of World Women’s Day 2025, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps organized a special programme at the Regimental Headquarters Borella on 11 March 2025. The programme consisted with two special lectures on the importance of mental health and prevention of cancers. The lectures were conducted by Maj Wishmika De Silva who is a psychologist from ABH Colombo and Dr Kalumi Leelarathna from National Cancer Prevention Centre - The Ministry of Health. Further the day was concluded with an entertainment session.The “Manusath Derana” media programme sponsored the programme with a special gift pack to the participants. Major General HHKSS Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc , the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps graced the event as the Chief Guest and the initiative was supervised by Brigadier P M S Karunaratne psc, the Centre Commandant SLAWC.

A brief ceremony was organized at the Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps to mark the occasion.

  • 1st Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Celebrates 45th Anniversary

    Military formalities were held as commemoration for the 45th Anniversary of the 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps. On 29th August 2024, the troops of 1 SLAWC carried out a 'Bodhi Pooja' by conducting a sermon for the troops and invoked merits on fallen war heroines and blessings on serving Army personnel as well as their family members.
