  • 1 BATTALION SRI LANKA ARMY WOMEN'S CORPS CONDUCT AN UNLAWFUL ASSEMBLY DISPERSAL ACTIVITY

    The "Illegal Gatherings" take a prominent feature in the masterminds of civilians in the present day scenario of the country. Thus, it is a current requirement to educate and practice women soldiers in this regard. In order to address the requisite a program was organized based on "Crowd Dispersal" and "Contingency Plan" of the camp premises. To understand the minds of lady soldiers in this crowned situation the Commanding Officer Major T T K K Fernando psc took forward steps to conduct an exercise on this regard. The exercise was successfully completed on 12th of May 2023 at 1SLAWC Premises.

  • THE INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF ‘OLIVE’ SALON AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE BASIC NEEDS FOR THE PREGNANT FEMALE SOLDIERS OF SLAWC

    Distribution of essential basic needs including baby items to all pregnant female soldiers who have completed 05 months pregnancy period while performing duties in the battalions of Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps and Inauguration Ceremony of newly constructed 'Olive' beauty salon, which could be considered as a prevailing requirement that had being dragged up to present since prolong time in the regimental center, was conducted under the supervision of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) on the 08th of May 2023 at the Regimental Centre Borella.

  • 1st BATTALION OF SRI LANKA ARMY WOMEN’S CORPS CELEBRATED THE VESAK

    The Vesak Lantern,which was made out of native resources is a wonderful result of the guidance given by Major General Dharshana Wijesekera and the sheer commitment of Maj Kalpani Fernando and all ranks of 1 SLAWC.Moreover,the soul-soothing and wonderful Vesak lantern was declared open by Major Kalpani Fernando on 2023/05/03 at an auspicious time.In addition to that, a Dharma Deshana was conducted at the conference hall, 1 SLAWC in the morning of the poya day on 2023/05/05.Also, a delicious “Jack fruit Dansal” was successfully organized at the Buddha Rashmi Vesak zone in Gangaramaya. After that Vesak lantern competitionwas also held on 2023/05/06 in 1SLAWC camp to hone the skills of the Soldiers.

  • SLAWC SEVA VANITHA BRANCH ORGANIZED ANOTHER CHARITY PROGRAMME.

    Under the guidance of Mrs. Shyamali Wijesekera, President of Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps Seva Vanitha Branch, through the personal donation of Mr. Jagath Pushpakumara, 23 spectacles were donated to the civil staff working under the regimental center and other SLAWC battalions on 1st April 2023 at RC SLAWC premises.

    Major S G M Premathilake SLAWC assumed duties as the 20th Commanding Officer of 2(V) Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps on 31 March 2023 giving prominence to Buddhist and religious observances at 2(V) SLAWC premises.

  • SLAWC ARRANGED ANOTHER SPECIAL PROGRAMME

    Troops of 4th Volunteer Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps along with 14 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment offered special lunch to teachers and children at Kalamurippu Government Tamil Mixed School on 30 March 2023. This Programme was initiated with the supervision of Brigadier DBL Kolonne USP, The Brigade Commander of 641 Infantry Brigade under the guidance of Mrs Shyamali Wijesekera, President of SLAWC Seva Vanitha Branch and Mr Jaan Vimarshane Kurera provided the financial contribution to the project.
