A CHARITY PROGRAMME ORGANIZED BY THE 3(V)SLAWC WITH THE SEVA VANITHA BRANCH OF SLAWC

The Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Seva Vanitha Branch made another humanitarian intervention by extending the helping hand for the Children of Nikavathalanda Gothami Pre School at Dehiaththakandiya on 23rd of December 2023. Under the guidance and leadership of the President of SLAWC Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs. Nayomi Gunaratne with the supervision of Major Harshi De Silva, Commanding Officer of the 3rd Volunteer Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps, Troops of 3(v)SLAWC organized the event.

Gifts packs consisted with school bags, school equipments and other essential stationery worth more than Rs. 70,000.00 and were distributed to the children with a primary focus on the education of the children of low-income families studying in Gothami Pre School.

Mrs. Naomi Gunaratne, President of The Seva Vanitha Branch of The Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the children of Gothami Pre-School also performed a varies cultural items during the concert. During the later part of the program, the President also engaged in a friendly conversation with the children of the preschool and wished for their future endeavors.

The project was initiated with the contribution of Maliban Garment- Mahiyanganaya, BOP Traders, KGA Stores - Dehiaththakandiya and Principal of Dehiaththakandiya National School.The Programme was coordinated and carried out with the support of Staff of SFHQ- EAST. the Director of Maliban Garment- Mahiyanganaya, Manager of BOP Traders and KGA Stores - Dehiaththakandiya along with Principal of Dehiaththakandiya National School, Staff Officers of SFHQ – EAST, all ranks of 3SLAWC were present during the event.
