Kichilan RWP RSP, the Commander of 143 Infantry Brigade. On 06 July 2023, the Principal of Thabbowa Maha Vidyalaya invited Brigadier T.M.F. Kichilan RWP RSP to attend the ceremony as the Chief Guest.

The troops of 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, under the 611 Infantry Brigade of 61 Infantry Division of Security Forces (West), recently conducted a specially designed leadership training programme for the 50 students including prefects of Udamakadawara Kanishta Vidyalaya in Kegalle. The programme, which took place on 01 July 2023, was organized at the request of the school authority.

Due to the recent heavy rains and strong winds in the Dagonna, Kadawala, Halgahawelawatta, Katuwellegama, Bobugammana and Palugahawela under Divulapitiya Divisional Secretariat area on 05 July 2023, a series of damage has been caused to 73 houses, two temples and the collapse of trees on the roofs of School buildings and many roads in the area. However, the Army troops, along with various government agencies, including the Disaster Management centre, have been working effortlessly since 06 July 2023 to provide relief and restore normalcy to the affected areas.

The dedicated efforts of the Army personnel continue to make a significant impact in the country's environmental conservation initiatives. On 03 July 2023, one officer and 20 Other Ranks of 7 Battalion Gemunu Watch serving under the 142 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces Headquarters (West), joined hands with the Sri Lanka Coastal Guard and the Police environmental protection division to clear the beache of Crow Island.

As part of his new role, he visited the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Headquarters located at the Army cantonment, Panagoda during 14, 21, June and 04 July 2023.
