As per the initiative of the Commander of the Army, the 3 (V) Gemunu Watch started constructing a new house for Mr. C.G. Ediriweera, a resident of Walauwaththa, Thudawa, Matara. The foundation stone laying ceremony was held on 26 April 2024 with the participation of Senior Staff Officer 613 Infantry Brigade, Lt. Col. P.G.D. Sampath RWP RSP, Commanding Officer of the 3 (V) Gemunu Watch, Major H.P.D.C. Thilakarathna, villagers, and with religious blessings.

According to the visionary leadership of Commander 14 Infantry Division, Major General K A W N H Bandaranayake USP, and with the dedicated supervision and guidance of Commander 141 Infantry Brigade, Colonel R R de S Dharmawickrema RSP, the Commanding Officer and All Ranks of 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry came together to organize a commendable Blood Donation Programme on the 27 May 2024 at 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry premises. This event served as a testament to their commitment to humanitarian causes. In a display of selflessness and solidarity, 75 military personnel participated by donating blood, showcasing their unwavering support for the well-being of their community.

On 25 May 2024, at 1700 hrs, the proactive efforts of the troops from the 6th Field Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, under the command of the 141 Infantry Brigade and the 14 Infantry Division, played a significant role in providing humanitarian assistance. Due to adverse weather conditions, they efficiently cleared a fallen tree that was obstructing traffic along the Dedicated Economic Center road in Veyangoda. Such initiatives are crucial for ensuring a smooth transportation flow and aiding the local community. By swiftly addressing the blockage, the troops not only facilitated uninterrupted movement for vehicles and pedestrians but also demonstrated their commitment to supporting the well-being of the residents. More than 1,000 devotees attended the Vesak Dansala.
