  • GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 57 (15) INFANTRY DIVISION VISITS 143 (153) INFANTRY BRIGADE

    Major General WMPM Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding of the 57 (15) Infantry Division, paid an official visit to the 143 (153) Infantry Brigade Headquarters in Puttalam on 20 August 2024. The Commander of the 143 Infantry Brigade warmly welcomed the GOC and the visiting senior officers.

  • COMMUNITY FOOD DISTRIBUTION BY 14 INFANTRY DIVISION

    On 19 August 2024, 150 food parcels were distributed to underprivileged individuals in the Colombo area. This initiative was carried out following the instructions given by Major General KAWNH Bandaranayake USP, the General Officer Commanding of the 14th Infantry Division. The distribution was conducted under the supervision of Major General KAU Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG, the Deputy General Officer Commanding of the 14th Infantry Division.

  • MULTI-SPORTS TOURNAMENT AT 141 INFANTRY BRIGADE

    Under the exceptional leadership and guidance of Brigadier R. R. De S. Dharmawickrema RSP, the 141 Infantry Brigade organized an engaging multi-sport tournament to foster sportsmanship, camaraderie, and unity among its troops. This well-received event took place over several days and featured a diverse array of competitions, including Carrom, Chess, Daam, Volleyball, and Tug of War.

  • SECURITY FORCES (WEST) HOST A LECTURE REGARDING TIMELY CHALLENGES, STRATEGIES, AND COMMON LEGAL ISSUES TO OVERCOME CONTEMPORARY ILLEGAL DRUGS RELATED ACTIVITIES

    Under the esteemed leadership of Major General SWM Fernando RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander of Security Forces (West), the Directorate of Legal Services, Human Rights, and Humanitarian Law took the initiative to organize a lecture at the Army Gymnasium Panagoda on 16 August 2024. The session, led by Attorney-at-Law Mr. KS Harshan Perera, was attended by 50 officers and 1400 other rankers from the under-command divisions, Brigades, affiliated Battalions, and regimental centers within the Army Cantonment Panagoda.

  • 613 INF BDE CONDUCTS BASIC OUTBOARD MOTOR BOAT AND OAR BOAT TRAINING

    Under the guidance of Major General KHMS Wikramaratne RSP, General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division, a Special Basic Outboard Motor Boat and Oar Boat Training Course was arranged to train 4 X 64 Officers and Other Ranks from 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 2 (V) Gemunu Watch and 3 (V) Gemunu Watch. The training took place at the Army Engineers' Training School in Embilipitiya in two phases, with approval from the Directorate of Training and under the supervision of the Commander 613 Infantry Brigade.

  • CONTRIBUTION OF 142 INFANTRY BRIGADE TO BELLANWILA RAJAMAHA VIHARAYA

    Under the instructions of the Commander of the 142 Infantry Brigade and the supervision of the Civil Affairs Officer, the maintenance work for the Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya began on 24 July 2024, in preparation for the 74th Esala Maha Perahera Festival. This initiative aims to ensure the temple is in optimal condition for the significant religious event which draws numerous devotees and visitors. The maintenance efforts, which continued until 6 August 2024, including cleaning, repairs, and enhancements to the temple grounds and facilities. This contribution reflects the brigade's commitment to supporting and preserving cultural and religious traditions in the community.

  • LECTURE ON MINIMIZING GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

    A lecture on gender-based society aimed at reducing violence against women in government institutions by promoting equality and justice for both men and women was conducted by Chief Inspector Yesmin Raani, Officer in Charge of the Child and Women’s Bureau of Athurugiriya Police Station. The event was held at the 2nd Battalion, Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps lecture hall on 31 July 2024, with the participation of 6 X 89 Officers and Other Ranks from the 144 Infantry Brigade and its subordinate battalions.

  • LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMME AT JINARATHANA MAHA VIDYALAYA-GALLE

    On 24 July 2024, a comprehensive Leadership Training Program was successfully conducted for 148 students of Jinarathana Maha Vidyalaya in Galle. The event took place from 0830 hrs to 1230 hrs at the school premises and was part of the annual program.
