  • 141 INFANTRY BRIGADE COMMEMORATES 17TH ANNIVERSARY

    Under the guidance of Commander 141 Infantry Brigade, Colonel R.R. de S. Dharmawickrema, RSP, the Brigade celebrated its 17th anniversary with a series of events. The celebrations commenced with a friendly cricket league on 29 June 2024, followed by an almsgiving and a renovated guard room opening on 01 July 2024. On 02 July 2024, the Brigade Major warmly received the Brigade Commander and awarded the Guard Turnout at the main entrance. The event was followed by a group photograph, the planting of a sapling, and a troop address to mark the anniversary celebrations with pride.

    Marking a significant milestone in the annual calendar of Security Forces West, a two-day workshop was dedicated to the Military in Internal Security Operations (MISO). Hosted by the International Committee of the Red Cross Delegation at Security Forces Headquarters - West on 2 and 3 July 2024, this workshop provided a pivotal platform for our officers to bolster their expertise in this crucial field.

  • SPECIAL PROGRAM TO CLEAN GALLE CITY

    At the invitation of the Governor of the Southern Province, a program was conducted to clean the Galle city area on 30 June 2024, with the participation of all government institutions of the Galle district. The event was organized by dividing Galle city into ten divisions. Additionally, 50 troops from 2(V) Gemunu Watch participated in cleaning Division “B” from Magalla Bridge to the Cement Factory. The program commenced with the participation of the Governor of the Southern Province, the General Officer Commanding the 61 Infantry Division - Major General KHMS Wickramarathna RSP, senior officers of the tri-forces, police, and members of government institutions.

  • THE NEWLY APPOINTED DEPUTY COMMANDER OF SECURITY FORCES (WEST) ASSUMES DUTIES

    Major General Y A B M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc assumed office as the Security Forces Headquarters (West) Deputy Commander on 28 June 2024. Primary, senior officer auspiciously took over duties amidst religious observances and placed his signature in an official document to signify the acceptance of his new office. Afterward, a comprehensive briefing was conducted at the Security Forces Headquarters (West) conference hall. The Logistic Commander of Security Forces (West), Brigadier General Staff, Project Officer, Brigadier Coordinator (Volunteer Matters), Brigadier Admin & Quartering, Senior Officers, and Officers of Security Forces Headquarters (West) also participated in this event. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the Security Forces Headquarters (West) extended their best wishes to the newly appointed Deputy Commander of Security Forces Headquarters (West) on the assumption of duties of the new appointment.

  • A COMMUNITY EFFORT LED BY THE SRI LANKA BUDDHIST AND PALI UNIVERSITY

    Under the guidance of Senior Lecturer Yodhakandiye Ariyawansa Thero of the Sri Lanka Buddhist and Pali University, located in Pitipana, a pilgrimage was organized for the provision of materials needed by all patients receiving treatment at Maharagama Apeksha Hospital.   • ORGANIZED DANSALA FOR THE POSON POYA DAY BY 611 INFANTRY BRIGADE

    Under the guidance of Commander 611 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier HDLS Perera RWP RSP ndc, Officers, and Other Ranks of the 611 Infantry Brigade, organized a "Manioc Dansala" on Poson Poya day (21 June 2024) in front of the 611 Infantry Brigade Headquarters, Beragala, Kegalle. A large number of civilians living around the area attended the dansala.

  • RAISING AWARENESS ON CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN AND WOMEN: LEGAL PERSPECTIVES AND PROTECTIVE MEASURES

    141 Infantry Brigade organized an insightful lecture on crimes against children and women on 19 June 2024 at the Infantry Brigade premises as part of their training day program. This event was held under the guidance of Col RR De S Dharmawickrama RSP, ensuring the highest level of expertise. Chief Inspector Tineeshiya Premarathne from the Gampaha Police Station conducted the lecture, which aimed to raise awareness about crimes and laws related to children and women, providing our audience with the most reliable and up-to-date information.

  • FOR POSON POYA DAY, TROOPS CLEAN THE HOMES OF THE ELDERLY

    By the directive of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, and under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding the 14 Infantry Division, the troops of the 14th Battalion, Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, cleaned the elders' home at No. 55, Lesley Ranagala Mawatha, Borella, on July 17, 2024, in anticipation of Poson Poya Day. The elders have lived there since 1982.
