On the invitation extended by Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, the Jaffna district main coordinator of promoting green agriculture, Dr. Sinnadurai Jameson Arasakesary, the Additional Director of Agriculture - Research in Regional Agriculture Research and Development Centre - Kilinochchi conducted a fruitful awareness programme on green agriculture for the troops in Jaffna which included 50 Officers and 100 Other Ranks at SF (J) on 12 January 2022. Dr. Arsakesari has mastered on the field of agriculture for 27 years and awarded the ASDA award for “Best Scientist of the year 2020” and “Best Contributor in the Agriculture Sector - 2018” and promote green agriculture since 2017.

During the programme, the guest lecturer educated the audience on various crops which can be ideally promoted in the Jaffna peninsula, Organic agriculture and organic fertilizer production analysis, green manure production and also simply explained on easiest ways of producing organic fertilizer with available raw materials in area. Also he urged to develop home gardening through collective efforts as a finest solution to overcome challenges and issues faced when promoting green agriculture as a matter of priority. Audience also raised many question and cleared doubts at the end of the session.

Security Force Headquarters Jaffna organized another community related programme for Tamil Militarized Soldiers of Security Forces Jaffna Farm on eve of the Thai Pongal Festival. This donation programme was implemented by the Staff Officers of Security Forces Headquarters on the concept of Commander Security Force Jaffna, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, on Sunday, 09 January 2022.

The Security Forces Commander visited Organic Fertilizer Production site at Security Force Headquarters farm premises on Saturday 08 January 2022.

Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP who assumed duties as the Commander of the Security Forces-Jaffna, paid homage to historic Nagadeepa Temple and received blessings of the incumbent at Nagadeepa Temple, Ven. Navadagala Padumakiththathisai Thero on Friday 07 January 2022.

With the dawn of year 2022, the Commander and All Ranks of Security Force Jaffna commenced duties for the New Year following military traditions on the 3rd January 2022.

All the 31 commanding officers serving the Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna participated in a specially designed Commanding Officers’ Training workshop programme organized by staff officers of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna on 30 and 31 December 2022, adhering to the COVID-19 health guidelines.

The Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army, and Head of the Green Agriculture Operation Center (GAOC) General Shavendra Silva, visited the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna to address the troops of tri services in Jaffna peninsula on the eve of the dawn of the New Year. CDS and Army Commander arrived in Palaly in the morning on 29 December and were received by Commander Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ - J) Major General Sujeewa Senarathyapa RWP RSP together with senior officers of the Navy and Air Force personnel.
