A Two Day Workshop for Commanding Officers of SFHQ (J)

All the 31 commanding officers serving the Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna participated in a specially designed Commanding Officers’ Training workshop programme organized by staff officers of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna on 30 and 31 December 2021, adhering to the COVID-19 health guidelines.

This workshop was organized on the instructions of the Commander Security Forces Jaffna, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, with the Aim of to impart knowledge and practical experiences for all commanding officers on command responsibilities and responsibilities of command and develop the intellectual attributes to be professional and build character in order to lead their men as the commanding officer. By this process, seek to develop their breadth of understanding and the ability to analyse and evaluate operational environment and and execute operational process when seeking solutions in a logical way for the contemporary issues that they encountered.

The two day workshop was lead by Major General DGS Senarath Yapa covering most vital topics such as Command Responsibilities and Responsibilities of Commanders, Social Media and its Impact on Military Operations ,CO’s Responsibility Towards Training, Art of Working with People, Officer Career Progression, Operational Process, Sri Lanka Army Way Forward Strategy 2020 - 2025, and Action Plan of Battalions, Case Studies on Command Responsibilities respectively.

This two days workshop consisted with group discussions, series of lectures, dinners club and panel discussion. During the workshops, Commanding Officer of Under Command Battalions received a comprehensive briefing, expert’s experiences and the invaluable knowledge pertinent to the said subject areas.

General Officer commanding of 51, 52 and 55 Divisions, Commander FMA (North), Brigade Commanders and other Senior Officers were given the opportunity to witness the workshop virtually.
