The 72th Army Day Celebrations at Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna was held on 10th October 2021 with the participation of Brigadier Admin and Quartering, Security Forces Jaffna, Brigadier D M A Bandara and Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks serving at the Headquarters premises.

The 2nd recruit training course at Battalion Training School Vidaththalpalai, Jaffna of 52 Infantry Division under Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna commenced during a simple ceremony on 07 October 2021.

In line with the government policy of restricting and banning the agrochemicals including insecticide and herbicides, the Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna in collaboration with the District Director of Agriculture, Ms. A Sakeela Banu conducted one day workshop on “Organic Fertilizers Making” on Tuesday 5 October 2021.

Brigadier Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc assumed duties as the 26th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 52 Infantry Division under the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna, amidst religious blessings and military formalities in accordance with existing health guide lines at the 52 Infantry Division Headquarters on 03 September 2021.

The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division was warmly welcome by the Staff Officers of the Division Headquarters and honoured in a Guard Turnout followed by planting a Mango sapling to mark the event.

Three hundred and forty recruits who trained at the Battalion Training School in Vidaththalpalai, Jaffna passed out during a simple ceremony, after successful completion of their four - month basic training on Thursday 26 August 2021.

Colonel WMAB Wijekoon USP of Gajaba Regiment assumed office as the 33 rd Commander of the 515 Infantry Brigade of 51 Division under Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) on Monday 16 August 2021 during a simple ceremony.

Fallen War Heroes of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) during the 'Operation Pawan' and other operations against LTTE terrorists during the period from 1987 to 1990 in Sri Lanka were commemorated and their sacrifices were remembered at the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) Monument in Palaly on 15 August 2021 to coincide with the 75th Independence Day of India.

The 29th death anniversary of the legendry military leader in the Sri Lankan Military History, Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa RWP RSP VSV USP rcds psc was commemorated at Araly Point Monument , Kayts with the participation of Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc Mphil , Commander Security Force (Jaffna), Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu and senior officers of Tri services.

Commander Security Forces Headquarters – (MULLAITIVU) and Colonel of the Regiment of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Major General SPKA Pilapitiya RWP RSP USP made formal visit to 4th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment on 27th July 2021 in parallel with battalion 32nd Anniversary. The visiting Commander was warmly welcomed by Commanding Officer Major HGS Gallage psc. During his visit the newly constructed main gate and the War Heroes’ memorial “ Viru Paura” were unveiled and the Commander SF- (MLT) addressed Officers and Other Ranks during the visit. GOC 51 Inf Div Maj General DMKDB Pussella RWP RSP , GOC 52 Inf Div Maj General WHKS Peris RWP RSP USP ndu, PSO (HQSLAVF) Brig SRB Aluwihare RWP RSP ndu psc and Senior Officers participated to this event. These notable events were organized by adhering all the health guidelines stipulated by the government to prevent COVID – 19 outbreaks.

The newly appointed 26th Security Force Commander, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, paid homage to Sri Naga Vihara Temple and made a courtesy call on the Chief Incumbent of Sri Naga Vihara Temple, Ven. Meegahajandure Sri Vimaladeva Thero on 27 July 2021. Subsequently, he met Bishop of Jaffna Diocese Rt. Rev. Dr. Justin B Gnanapragasam and received blessings on same day. Few of Senior Army Officers were also presented at the occasion.
