The foundation stone laying ceremony for the shrine room of Sri Samiddhi Sumana temple at Nawatkuli was held on 13 January 2024. As per the guidance of Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division and Colonel WKSPMRAB Dodamwala psc, Brigade Commander, 522 Infantry Brigade, the troops arranged a grand Christmas carol concert on 29th December 2023 at Kaddaikadu church.
As per the concept of General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division, Major General S W B Welagedara RSP VSV USP ndc and under the guidance of the Commander, 512 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier, M P S P Kulasekara WWV RWP RSP, the troops of 17th Battalion the Gemunu Watch was able to complete a house within three months and handed over the newly constructed house to a family of four children on 23 December 2023.
As a part of community service programme launched under the guidance of Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, the General Officer Commanding - 52 Infantry Division and with the supervision of Colonel MHR Fernando RWP RSP USP, Commander 521 Infantry Brigade, the troops of the 4th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment constructed a new house and handed over to a penurious family who subsists in Thambiapulam Alwai, Point Pedro on 26th December 2023.
To strengthen the relationship with tamil community and as a CIMIC activity, troops of 11 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment conducted a cleaning programme at Selvasannadi Kovill - Thondamannaru on 24 December 2023. Civilians of the area participated for the cleaning programme too. The collective effort was highly appreciated by the people who living around the area.
