Troops of Security Forces – Jaffna along with the staff of Divisional Secretariat – Jaffna marked the 76th Independence Day with a grand - scale programme on 04th February 2024 at Divisional Secretariat premises with the visionary and pragmatic directions of the Commander, Security Forces – Jaffna, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc. Divisional Secretary, Mr. Sambasivam Sutharsan graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Following the programme, the National Flag was hoisted and the assembly recited the National Anthem, and it was a heart touching moment reiterated the fact of true reconciliation and harmony among communities. The event featured cadet teams from Vembadi Girls School, Hindu Girls School, Jaffna Central College and representatives of school scouting teams.
A large gathering of spectators witnessed the day’s celebrations including Deputy General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division, Senior Officer, Officers, Other Ranks, religious leaders, government officials, Sri Lanka Navy, Sri Lanka Air Force, Sri Lanka Police, and staff of Divisional Secretariat.
