Construction of a new house for a needy family at Thavasikulam in Kodikamam, was brought to completion by 7 Gajaba Regiment troops under the guidance of the Commander 522 Infantry Brigade and with the support of the General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division and its formal vesting ceremony took place on 19 October 2020 in the presence of Major General Senerath Bandara, Commander, Security Forces- Jaffna.
The financial sponsorship was coordinated by Mr Kumar Weerasooriya with the guidance of former Commanders of the Security Forces in Jaffna who have been the driving force behind the construction of houses for underprivileged civilians in Jaffna. Including this house, 736 houses have been vested by Security Forces Headquarters-Jaffna and this new house was built for Mrs Manjula Ghaneshwaran, widow mother who was living with three children without proper shelter.
The newly-constructed house is comprised of all facilities such as sitting area, bedrooms, kitchen etc and was supplied gifted with essential household items, and furniture along with its ceremonial opening. The key of the house was auspiciously handed over to the head of the household during this brief ceremony by Major General Senerath Bandara, Commander Security Forces- Jaffna who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, following of Hindu religious observances and traditional warming rituals.

During a brief ceremony organized on 19 October 2020, Commander Security Forces - Jaffna Major General Senerath Bandara laid the foundation stone for a new house for Mrs. D Indra Rathish and her family in Uduvil, Jaffna.
Mr. Kumara Weerasooriya will bear the financial costs of material for the construction work. The much needed manpower for the construction work was provided by the troops of 9 Sri Lanka Light Infantry under 511 Brigade with the Supervision of 51 Division.
Religious Dignitaries, Major General Sumith Premalal, General Officer Commanding 51 Division, Brigadier General Staff, Security Forces – Jaffna Brigadier Prasanna Ranawaka, Colonel Rohitha Rathnayake, Commander 511 Brigade, Staff Officers 51 Division, Major Sisira Kumara, Commanding Officer 9 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, well wishers and Troops associated the Commander Security Forces - Jaffna during the ceremony.
The function was organized according to the health guidelines issued by health authorities and Army Headquarters.

23rd Battalion the Gemunu Watch under 552 Brigade of 55 Division, belongs to Security Forces - Jaffna donated school accessories including stationery and school items to deserving students of the Muhamalai RCTM School on Friday 02 October 2020. This was carried out by Lieutenant Colonel Chaminda Dissanayake, the Commanding Officer of the 23rd Battalion the Gemunu Watch on the direction of Commander 552 Infantry Brigade Colonel Prabath Munipura to celebrate the World Children's Day with the under privileged children in Muhamalai Area.
Commander 552 Brigade, Commanding Officer, Officers, Principle and Teachers of the school and a number of Military personnel were present during the event.

In view of promoting peace, reconciliation and wellbeing of the community in Jaffna peninsula, Army troops have launched a number of projects assisting the people uplifting their living standards and espousing social wellbeing. Initiating another chapter of Civil Military Cooperation, a “Harmony Centre” was declared open in Kopay on 29 September 2020. This Civil-military Coordinating centre was set up by Army troops on the conceptual direction of Major General Senerath Bandara Commander Security Forces – Jaffna.
The harmony centre plans to accommodate many community oriented projects that will reinforce expectations of reconciliation and community development. Community programmes related to Health, Education, Communication & Information, Construction, Empowering Women & Children, Cultural & Religious activities, Sports & Entertainment and Vocational Training are scheduled to be facilitated for the benefit of the general public and particularly the youth in Jaffna peninsula. Accordingly, the space at the harmony centre would be utilized for Cultural Dance, Folk Music, Education, IT Education, Health and Wellbeing in order to address needs of the affected and disadvantaged sections of the society. Later it is expected to include many more additions such as Sports Development etc. Accordingly, the first stage of Students Registration for Sinhala Language course was commenced right after the opening ceremony.
The Land and Financial support for the construction for the new Harmony Centre was provided by Mr. Vamadeva Thiagendran, Founder and Chairman of Thiyahie Charitable Trust and it was coordinated by Major General Lalith Rathnayake, General Officer Commanding 51 Division.

'Harmony Football Tournament – 2020' is a conceptual initiation of Major General Senarath Bandara Commander Security Force – Jaffna in view of strengthening cohesion and sportsmanship among the talented youths of Jaffna peninsula. The mega tournament participating 12 football clubs in Jaffna was organized by 51 Division and 513 Brigade, and held the finals on 19 September 2020 at the Ariyalai Federation Ground the gathering of many football fans in Jaffna peninsula.
The troops of Security Forces Jaffna invited most talented players belong to 12 Football Clubs from Gurunagar, Navanthurai, pandatharippu, Periyavilan, Ilavalai and Palaly areas to compete towards the finals of the mega tournament. Among them Gurunagar Singing Fish football club and Navanthurai 'St Nicals Sports Club' were selected for the finals, and Gurunagar 'Singing Fish football team' clinched the trophy defeating their counterparts parts by 2 – 1 goals.
Commander Security Force – Jaffna graced the occasion on finals as the chief guest and General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, and troops witnessed the final encounter of the Harmony Football Tournament – 2020 with was sponsored by Mr. Pavaneethan Bavan and Mr. SS Kuganathan the Managing Director of Dan TV.

On the intention of turning the arid Jaffna peninsula to be a lush greenery by enhancing the density of its rain forest coverage, the 512 Brigade and under command troops launched the project of planting 1000 Kubuk saplings in Allaipiddy area along the Jaffna Kayts road on 5 September 2020.

The troops under command to Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna started renovating ʽʽUppu Vajal’’ agriculture tank at Vadukkoddai West in Chankanai, amidst the presence of Commander Security Forces – Jaffna Major General Senerath Bandara on 31 August 2020 in order to support their livelihoods.
The project was initiated upon the request of Dr. Sidambaran Mohan, the President of 'Friends of Jaffna' organization and the Farmers' Society of Vadukkoddai – Southwest together with Government Agent Mr. Kanapathipillai Maheshan. The renovation began under the guidance of Commander Security Forces Jaffna and supervision of General Officer Commanding 51 Division Major General Lalith Rathnayake.
The renovation project was funded by Mr. Vamadeva Thiagendran, Founder and Chairman of Thiyahie Charitable Trust and the much needed manpower and machines were provided by 10 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Engineers and 11 Sri Lanka Light Infantry under Security Forces Headquarters – Jaffna.
