General public awareness programme on COVID -19 pandemic situation in Jaffna peninsula and prevention and precautionary measures of COVID -19 was carried out by the troops of 51, 52 and 55 divisions on the instruction of Commander Security Force (Jaffna) and District Coordinator of COVID-19 Control and Prevention in Jaffna, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu on 14 August 2021.
Through this programme, general public were made aware of the importance of preventing COVID-19, following health guidelines including proper wearing of Face Masks, maintaining of social distance to control the spread of the new Delta variant. General public were also educated on the symptoms of the variant and causes of spread and how to prevent it. Accordingly, this public awareness programme will be continued in the future too.
