Security Forces Headquarters (East) held a Sinhala and Hindu New Year Festival in a grand scale at Shivananda School playground in Batticaloa on 09th April 2015 with the participation of all troops under command of 22, 23, 24 Divisions and FMA(E) under the guidance of Major General NJ Walgama RSP USP ndu psc, the Commander of Security Force (East) . The highlight of the festival was the large participation of the civilians of all racial groups in the province. It was observed that a great unity and harmony among the troops and the civilians prevailed during the ceremony.

6th Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps located at Morawewa under the command of 221 Bde in Security Force (East) organized an awareness programme on food safety pertaining to World Health Day for the students and teachers of Gomarankadawala Maha Vidyalaya on 07th April 2015 with a view to mark World Health Day.(Troops participated 06 x 25)

23rd Bn Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under the command of 242 Brigade in Security Force (East) organized an awareness programme on Traffic Law for the students of Methodist Tamil School, Pothuvil on 07th April 2015. The lecture was delivered by a Police Officer of the Pothuvil Police Station. Army officials and teachers of the school were also participated for the programme. (Troops participated 01 x 05)

A computerized wheel alignment system and wheel balancing section which had been a major requirement for SFHQ(E) AOR was installed at 3 SLEME medium workshop, Minneriya on 11th April 2015. This was declared open by Maj Gen T N Jayasuriya USP Hdmc of Director General Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and Colonel Commandant of SLEME with the invitation of Lt Col KARK Dias CO 3 SLEME.

6th Battalion of Sri Lanka Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment at Thiriyaya under the 221 Brigade of 22 Division in Security Force (East) AOR organized a \"shramadana\" campaign to clean the premises of Kuburupiddi Naga Pusari Amman Kovil at Kuburupiddi on 10th April 2015. (Troops participated 00 x 06)

Civil Affairs office of 24 DIV donated ready-made garments for a poor family at Thissapura in Ampara on 14th April 2015 with the generous sponsorship of Mr. Wasantha Pothupitiya. School amenities were also provided to those children whose father was dead from a cancer. (Troops participated 01 x 06)

222 Brigade at Kanthale in the Security Forces (East), provided labour assistance to concrete a meditation room of Sathipattana Meditation Centre on 17th April 2015. (Troops participated 01 x 12)
