    The outgoing Commanding Officer of the 2(Volunteer) Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Lt Col B M Jayaweera psc was accorded with a Guard Turnout and a Ceremonial Parade in accordance with military traditions, held at the Battali on premises in memory of his farewell from the 2(V) SLSC.

  • A DONATION OF BICYCLES AND SCHOOL ACCESSORIES FOR CHILDREN OF LOW INCOME FAMILIES

    231 Brigade coordinated a donation for the children of under privileged families in Batticaloa district under the auspices of Shanthi Foundation of Dehiwala on Tuesday (12). During the programme, school accessories were distributed among 450 students and 20 bicycles among low income families.

  • NEWLY CONSTRUCTED SHRINE ROOM WAS HANDED OVER TO THE PRIMARY SCHOOL OF MAHAWELITHENNA

    A new Shrine Room at Mahawelithenna Primary School was constructed by the troops of 2(Volunteer) Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps under the instruction of the Commanding Officer and with the financial support of Mr. Duminda Jayaweera & Mr. Ranga Warusavithana.

  • ‘EXERCISE - MASTER LOGGER' CONTINUES FRUITFULLY

    The first Exercise Master Logger which is now being underway at the Security Force Headquarters (East), successfully completes its third day providing array of opportunities for Staff Officers and Other Ranks belonging to Administrative and Logistics branches of under command formations of the Security Forces (East) to enhance professional competencies on Logistics procedures practiced in the Army. This exercise is conducted by the Security Force Headquarters (East) in partnership with Army School of Logistics.

  • TROOPS OF 233 BRIGADE CLEANS CHALLATHIV BEACH

    With the guidance of Commander 233 Brigade, Colonel R Elvitigala USP, the troops initiated a cleaning programme at Challathiv seashore on 11 Mar 2019. This timely required event was launched to protect the Mother Nature and promote its natural beauty. Brigade Commander, Commanding Officer 6 GR, Officers and troops attended this benevolent task.

  • BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN – 233 BRIGADE VAKAREI

    In line with the 28th Anniversary of 233 Brigade, Vakarai, a Blood Donation Campaign was organized on Wednesday (27) with the guidance of the Commander, 233 Brigade, Colonel R Elvitigala USP. The event was conducted with the assistance of the staff of Polonnaruwa General Hospital. 125 Officers and solders of the Headquarters and under command battalions donated their blood for this worthy cause.

  • 28th ANNIVERSARY OF 233 BRIGADE - VAKARAI

    A series of events were organized in conjunction with 28 anniversary of the 233 Brigade –Vakarei giving priority for religious activities from 27 Feb 2019 to 03 Mar 2019. All night Pirith Chanting was held on Thursday (28) and followed by the Alms Giving with the attendance of Commander Security Force (East) Major General KPA Jayasekara WWV RSP USP ndc psc and several other Senior Officers. Further, a Kovil Pooja was held at Pullayaar Kovil Vakarei, Christian Mass and Service at St. Michel Church Vakarei and Muslim religious activity took place at Mohideen Jumna Mosque Oddamawadi to invoke blessings for those who sacrificed their lives while serving under 233 Brigade.

  • CHARITY WORK WITH 28 ANNIVERSARY – 233 BRIGADE

    Commemorating the 28th anniversary, 233 Brigade, Vakarei conducted another Community Targeted Welfare Assistance Programme under the guidance and supervision of Brigade Commander, Colonel R Elvitigala USP on 26 Feb 2019. Accordingly, selected 35 under privileged families of the remote village of Tikkana were donated with the commodities packs each worth of nearly Rs.2000.00 Further, a special lunch was organized for residential patients and to the hospital staff of Vakarei Hospital.

  • BOOK DONATION PROGRAMME TO KARAWEDDIYARU VIJITHA VIDDYLAYA AND ERUNURUVIL TAMIL MIXED SCHOOL

    Troops of 4 Battalion the Gemunu Watch conducted a donation programme of school accessories for Karaweddiyaru Vijitha Vidyalaya and Erunuruvil Tamil Mixed School on 20 Feb 2019 at Karaweddiyaru Vijitha Vidyalaya premises.
