Colonel A M A Abeysinghe RWP RSP USP psc took over duties as the Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Training Centre on 14th August 2020. The newly appointed Commandant was greeted with the Guard Turnout at the entrance and the formal military parade was presented by the troops comprising with Armoured Personal Carriers. After officially taking over duties at the office with religious blessings, he planted a sapling to symbolize the acceptance of the duties. Thereafter, he addressed all Officers and Other Ranks of the Training Centre and emphasized on carrying out the responsibilities by each individual to achieve the goals. Later he visited the camp area and inspected the routine works.

Administrative inspection presided by Major General H J S Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc - Chief of Staff Army Headquarters was held on 13 August 2020 at the Regimental Centre Mechanized Infantry Regiment - Dambuluhalmillawewa. As per the day's proceedings Major General A G D N Jayasundera RWP RSP - Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry Regiment received the Chief of Staff and presented with a guard turnout. Thereafter, Director Generals, Directors, Staff Officers of Army Headquarters and Staff Officers of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Headquarters were warmly welcomed by Colonel of the Regiment, Mechanized Infantry Regiment to the Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre.
