COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT VISITS THE MECHANIZED INFANTRY BRIGADE AND 1ST BATTALION MECHANIZED INFANTRY REGIMENT

After assuming duties as the 11th Colonel of the Regiment of Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Major General S S Waduge RWP RSP USP ndu psc - Adjutant General, Army Headquarters marked the first official visit to the Mechanized Infantry Brigade and 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment on 10 January 2021.

Commencing the visit to the 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel W M Samantha - Commanding Officer upon arrival at the entrance and greeted with a guard turnout.

Thereafter, Colonel of the Regiment was invited for planting a sapling and attended the briefing by Commanding Officer. Afterwards, troops address followed by all ranks tea, camp visit and concluded the visit while keeping remarkable note on the Visitors' Book and departed to the Mechanized Infantry Brigade.

While warmly welcoming to the Brigade Headquarters, Colonel of the Regiment was presented with drive pass and invited for the group photograph and planting a sapling. After that, attended the briefing conducted by Brigadier S J Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP - Commander Mechanized Infantry Brigade followed by troops address and camp visit. Brigadier W M S C K Wanasinghe RSP USP - Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment and Staff Officers were present at the occasion.

Subsequently, Colonel of the Regiment along with other Senior Officers were invited to the lunch hosted by the Mechanized Infantry Brigade. The day's event reached its conclusion after conveying best wishes for future career prospects of the organization while keeping remarks on the Visitors' Book.
