The Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre commenced a new construction project to build a accommodation for Regimental Sergeant Major at MIRC on 22 October 2015. Lt Col HMU Herath RWP RSP psc, Deputy Commandant laid the foundation stone at the auspicious time and Offrs and ORs\' of the MIRC also participated in the event.

Amarasiri Peiris and Anjelin Gunathilaka Unplugged with Marians’, the mega musical extravaganza, organized by the Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) Seva Vanitha Unit for the sake of raising funds for the welfare work was held at the Musaeus College auditorium Thursday (30) evening before a large gathering of musical enthusiasts.
Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army graced the entertainment programme as the Chief guest.\r\n\r\nThe show with a difference blended with the rising electronic music attractions, the 'Marians Unplugged' featured one of Sri Lanka's most challenging music of the Marians group, led by popular Nalin Perera.

Ranaviru Udanaya - 2015 organized by the Mechanized Infantry Regiment was held from 10 to 14 June 2015 at the Gam Udawa Ground, Dambulla. This mega event is organized annually by the Regiment to obtain funds for various welfare projects of fallen and disabled war heroes and their families as well as to uplift the standard of the Regiment and Battalions in various constructions.
This carnival was consisting with weapon exhibition, various entertainment sports, games, and stalls. Musical shows of most popular Music groups, dancing team and the singers decorated all the nights at the end of every day. The event was organized peacefully and successfully with high standard of security and discipline.

Colonel LS Balachandra RSP, Centre Commandant of the Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre visited the 1st , 4th & 5 th Bns of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment on 31 August 2015. During the bn visits Centre Commandant addressed troops of each bns and he was invited to plant a tree sapling to signify the symbolic memory of his visit to each places.

The Mechanized Infantry Ladies Club members, headed by the President Mrs Dhammika Hathurusinghe, visited to Anuradhapura on 27th June 2015 to interact with the inmates at "Abimansala 1" wellness resort for dependent War Heroes who are receiving rehabilitation and medical attention.
An inmate received the visiting the President Mrs Dhammika Hathurusinghe, offering a sheaf of betel and welcomed them to the "Abimansala 1". Mrs Dhammika Hathurusinghe at first inquired into disable War Heroes and presented value gifts pack them and donated a Heavy Duty Steam Iron to the "Abimansala 1". The Centre Commandant, Commanding Officers and officers of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment were associated with this event.

The newly-appointed Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala, paid his first formal visit to the Army Headquarters to call on Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army on 30th June 2015.\r\n\r\nA formal Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour, presented by troops of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) at the Ministry of Defence grounds greeted the guest who inspected the parade and received the honours. He was received by Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Adjutant General on arrival at the ground.
