INTER BATTALION BOXING COMPETITION

The Mechanized Infantry Regiment Inter Battalion Boxing competition was held on 20th, 21st and 22nd July 2017. The competition was held at 3rd Battalion Mechanized Infantry playground under the close supervision of the Commanding Officer 3 Mech Inf, Lt Col J M A Jayasekara RSP USP.

Colonel of the Regiment Major General J R Kulatunga RSP ndc psc grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Commander, 553 Brigade - Brigadier AGDN Jayasundera RWP RSP, the Commander Mechanized Infantry Brigade - Brigadier HMS Herath, the Centre Commandant Colonel HMU Herath RWP RSP psc with many senior officers of SFHQ (E) and Mechanized Infantry Regiment attended for the event. Finally 3 Mechanized Infantry won the championship of Inter Battalion Boxing competition and 2 Mechanized Infantry became as runners up. The prime intention of this event was to select most suitable and talent players for the Mechanized Infantry Regiment Boxing team.
