COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT VISITED MECHANIZED INFANTRY BRIGADE AND BATTALIONS

The Colonel of the Regiment Major General JR Kulatunga RSP ndc psc paid his first official visit to Mechanized Infantry Brigade, 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry, 4th Battalion Mechanized Infantry and 5th (V) Battalion Mechanized Infantry on 12th and 13th November 2017. On 12th morning the Colonel of the Regiment with Centre Comdt Col H M U Herath RWP RSP psc and Regimental Staff Officers arrived to Mechanized Infantry Brigade and warmly welcomed by Brigadier H M S Herath Commander - Mechanized Infantry Brigade. A formal Guard Turnout presented to the visiting Colonel of the Regiment. Commander - Mechanized Infantry Brigade conducted a presentation on development of infrastructure facilities in Brigade Headquarters. Then Brigade Commander invited Colonel of the Regiment to visit the camp premises. Afterwards, planting of a tree sapling and sitting for a group photograph with Brigade Staff were among major segments in the day's itinerary at the Mechanized Infantry Brigade Headquarters.Then Colonel of the Regiment visited 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry. A formal Guard Turnout presented to Colonel of the Regiment in his honour and warmly welcomed by Commanding Officer Lt Col W D S Gamage RSP and all Officers of 1 Mechanized Infantry. Commanding Officer conducted a presentation on operational and administrative matters of the battalion. Colonel of the Regiment addressed all Officers and Other Ranks of Mechanized Infantry Brigade and 1 Mechanized Infantry. The Colonel of the Regiment planted a tree sapling to mark his first official visit to the 1 Mechanized Infantry. \r\nIn the evening Col of the Regt arrived to Palaly to visit 4 Mechanized Infantry and to witness the Inter Battalion Volleyball Championship. At the entrance to the battalion Colonel of the Regiment was greeted with Drive Pass and warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Lt Col H A A N C Prabhath RSP USP. Afterward Commanding Officer briefed about all operational and administrative functions of the battalion. Colonel of the Regiment addressed all Officer and Other Ranks of the battalion and planted a tree sapling to mark his first official visit to 4 Mechanized Infantry.\r\nOn 13th morning Colonel of the Regiment arrived to 5(V) Mechanized Infantry and received the Guard Turnout at the entrance. Commanding Officer Lt Col H K S Thilakaratne and all Officers of 5(V) Mechanized Infantry warmly welcomed the visiting Colonel of the Regiment. Afterward Commanding Officer briefed the admin and operational functions of the battalion. Colonel of the Regiment addressed all Officer and Other Ranks of the battalion. Then he was invited for tea with All Ranks and shared his views with NCOs during the refreshment. According to day\'s itinerary Colonel of the Regiment visited camp area and inspect the facilities available for soldiers and planted a tree sapling to mark his first official visit to the battalion. Concluding the day\'s event Colonel of the Regiment penned his thought on the Visitors\' Book after the Lunch at Officers' Mess.
