Adding more facilities to the Mechanized Infantry Training Centre (MITC), newly constructed office complex and Model Rooms were ceremonially opened by the Col of the Regt Maj Gen J R Kulatunga RSP ndc psc at the invitation of Lt Col G P P Kulatilaka Commandant MITC on 02 Oct 2017.
On arrival of Col of the Regt to the MITC premises, warmly welcome by the Commander - Mechanized Infantry Brigade - Brigadier HMS Herath with the Centre Commandant Col H M U Herath RWP RSP psc and Comdt - MITC Lt Col G P P Kulatilaka. Col of the Regt unveil a plaque to symbolize the officially inauguration of the new office complex and Model Rooms.
Afterwards, the visiting Col of the Regt was invited to visit Model Rooms which equipped with Cut Models and Training Aids of Automotive, Gunnery and Communication systems of Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) which used by the Mechanized Infantry Regiment. Automotive model room equipped with "A" and "B" vehicle engines, other automotive functioning systems of the APCs and B vehicles. Gunnery and Communication model room consist with all weaponry systems, its functions cut models and Communication systems which highly useful for training. During the event Troops and Donors who have immensely contributed to the construction project received plaques from Col of the Regt as token of appreciation of their commitment and contribution.
In paralleled with the main programme, the Comdt - MITC organized \"Riot Control\" demonstration which emphasized how Mechanized Infantry troops can be used in such situation. Col of the Regt, other Senior Officers and Officers who were presence witness the demonstration.
