Mechanized Infantry Rowers Represent in Asian Rowing Competition - 2017

First time in history, Sri Lankan Rowing team participated for the Asian Rowing Championship which held from 01st Sep 17 to 08th Sep 17 in Pattaya Thailand.

There were 08 Army Rowing team players out of 13 Players who represented Sri Lanka team. Among them 02 Players represented from the Mechanized Infantry Regiment, S/829471 Pte Karunarathne PGCS who qualified (Pair event) for the final round and S/829296 Pte Medonza MPM who qualified (Coxless Four event) for semifinal round in Asian Rowing Championship 2017.

The Centre Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment and the Secretary of Sri Lanka Army Rowing Committee Col H M U Herath RWP RSP psc attended for the event as Team Manager. The Chairman, Army Rowing Committee Maj Gen J R Kulatunga RSP ndc, psc paid his blessing and complements to the team before they were leaving from the country.
