The OCDC Basketball Tournament was held successfully at the newly opened outdoor basketball court on 27 November 2021 to enhance comradeship and organising capabilities of Student Officers of SCC 3 and JCC 22. The Commandant of the Officer Career Development Centre, Major General DBSN Bothota RWP RSP USP psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

OCDC continues its building improvements in correspondence with the plan of re-designating OCDC as the Army War College. Accordingly, restructuring of Yudaganawa Model Room into a ‘Twin’ Model Room is underway by adding a new room with air conditioning and digital facilities to the existing model room. In addition, the renovation of the Badminton Court with a wooden floor is also under construction aiming to provide with best gaming facility for the student officers.

In response to the request made by the principal of CP/KOT Hedunuwewa Central College the Officer Career Development Centre, Buttala donated a stock of 418 books to the school library on 03 October 2021 with the direction of the Commandant with a view to supporting the school students to accumulate additional knowledge apart from their school curriculum.

The graduation ceremony of Senior Command Course 02, Junior Command Course 21 and Junior Staff Course 21 was held at OCDC Main Auditorium on 20 August 2021. This outstanding occasion was graced by the Commandant, Major General DBSN Bothota RWP RSP USP psc, Deputy Commandant, Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, Members of the Directing Staff and Permanent Staff.
